Hi 👋

My name is Michael. I'm a Copenhagen / Denmark-based, engineer, PhD, entrepreneur and avid photographer specialising in natural light photography - hence the name, Untamed Light. 

Working with natural light presents unique challenges as a photographer as it requires great skill in manipulating the scene, setting and settings to capture the envisioned photograph. But when done correctly, I believe natural light photography captures the truest representation of the subject. It will be how you remembered it. How you actually saw it. 

In today's modern world of photography where AI is killing off photographers every day I believe going back to capturing what's true instead of what you can achieve with multi-hour long editing sessions is absolutely key. Does that mean I don't edit my images? Of course not. But I do so with care and to highlight specific features of the scene, not to change the tone of an image completely.

In a rapidly changing world with changing climate, politics, wars and industries, I believe that more an more people yearn to become closer to the natural world. Certainly I do. After all, my photography career started more than 10 years ago with a desire to photograph wildlife. Showing your natural values in your professional portrait, with your products can all help bring other people more closer to nature and only then can we help solve humanity's greatest predicaments. 

I offer any photography services that can benefit from natural light. That is currently focussed around the 3 P's: Portraits, Pets and Products, however, if you have a specific vision in mind that could use natural light and natural scenes don't hesitate to reach out.
